How to check NECO result

One of the core mandates of the Council NECO (National Examination Council) in Nigeria as espoused in the enabling Act is the conduct of the Senior School Certificate Examination for internal and external candidates. Other examinations conducted by the Council are: National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) In NIGERIA.

The Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, is the examination conducted for candidates at the end of their Secondary School Education and the SSCE External is conducted for candidates that have attempted and have deficiency(ies) to make-up. To check your NECO result, you need a valid email address and a token.

Follow the instructions below to get one.

Step 1: Go to

Step 2: Enter all the required data in the columns and click on register

NECO will send an Activation Email to your registered email address
Step 3: Open you email and click on “Verify”

To Purchase Token;

Step 1: Go to

Step 2: Enter your Email Address/Phone number and your password in the required columns

Step 3: Then click on the “Login” button

Step 4: Locate and click on “Purchase Token” or Visit a trusted ecommerce site to get your token at easy
(NB: Each token can be used for only one result for a specific number of times)

Step 5: Enter the number of token you need and click on “Pay Now” button
(NB: a token is N500 + N50 service charge)

To Check Your NECO Result;

Once you have gotten your token,

Proceed to to check your result.

Fill all the required information and click on the “Check Result” button.

Note: Visit to create an email address if you do not have one.

Step 6: Now click on “Proceed to Pay” button to pay for the token on REMITA platform using your bank’s ATM card.

  • Can I use one token to check more than one result?

No! You may only use one token to check one result. To check another result of interest, you will require a new token. If you misuse a token by attempting to check another result different from the first one checked, you will be penalized as having used the token, and will be presented with the appropriate error message.

  • How to recover NECO examination number?

Visit a NECO office in your state and provide the following information;

  1. Full name.
  2. Year of the exam.
  3. Name of school where the exam was written.

You need the following requirements:

1 A printout of neco result from neco website.

2. A police extract from any police station in Nigeria.

3 .Affidavit for collection of attestation of result.

4. Your recent passport photograph at least 5.

5. N20,000. to be paid for retrieving of certificates.
